Festival CLUB – Sunday Sessions

As the festival celebrations draw to a close, come and wind down and sooth your soul to sweet local sounds of jazz, blues, jive, reggae and rootsy world grooves.

King Marong and Bec Matthews(Gambia/Australia)

King and Bec have spent the last 9 years touring their special blend of West African roots music locally and internationally. King and Bec will perform a set featuring stomping swamp blues to classical West African folk songs, frenetic drum and dance to the ever beguiling Kora (West African Harp), visiting many a genre in between. Be prepared to take a journey to far flung corners of the globe.

Matty Witney

Matty Witney is two voices; his own sweetly sung soul voice, and that of ‘Sadie’ his lady. She is a steel resonator guitar who weaves her way stridently through his songs, taking her time to pick the jazz flowers and contribute her poetic opinions.

Sami Cha and the Cardboard Cutouts

What’s organic, earthy and enjoys the roots? With a teaspoon of funk, a slither of bluesy desire, and half a cup of stage antics, welcome Sami Cha and the Cardboard Cutouts to the stage Singer/Songwriter, Sami Cha, inspired by the Central Australian Desert, is combining forces with Dom Costello, Joe van der Reijden, Timmy ‘Mungo’ Mariner, and the afro-less Kenny G. The Cutouts promise to not only provide a show which will get you jiving in your flip flops, but also give you something to tap to…

Minority Sun

You can feel yourself bouncing along a red dirt highway from Alice Springs to the homelands with their uplifting songs of love and life in the desert. Minority Sun consists of talented musicians with haunting vocals in songs that range in style from rootsy, laid-back rock to reggae and hip hop.
